Artisan Made Small Oak Wine Barrels & Wooden Miniature Whiskey Casks
These small 1, 2, 3 and 5 litre small wooden barrels, kegs and casks are crafted from seasoned East European Oak and as can be appreciated from the photos below, such a small oak barrel need it's time to be built and finished. The artisan barrel maker still crafts these small casks the same way that their ancestors used to for generations, the traditional way!
Once the optimally aged and dried oak wood is sourced, the small wooden barrel curves and tops are cut and carved out and readied and the barrel maker skillfully starts assembling the 1, 2, 3 and 5 litre barrels manually and are eventually held together with temporary metal rings.
If needed, the inside of the curved staves gets charred or toasted prior to their assembly since such small barrels can not be charred or toasted in the same way as larger wooden casks or barrels.
Once assembled, these small wooden barrels are rough from the outside and it is at this stage the wood barrel maker places the small barrel into the machinery and uses his experience to smoothen out the excessive edges as needed and the wooden cask starts getting into a finer and more attractive shape.
At this stage, the wood barrel maker removes the temporary rings are skillfully replaces them with the final barrel hoops, which maybe in natural or galvanized steel, black painted or real brass as per customer request.
Now the barrel's bug hole is drilled and the small oak barrel, it's matching stand, bung and wooden spigot get the requested finish and lacquered overall. At this stage the miniature wooden barrel's production process is finished and are headed to the warehouse
The attractively finished 1,2,3 and 5 liter small oak barrels and their matching fittings in their various finishes get warehoused and individually packaged and marked with their toasting level and are loaded on a pallet and await their collection and eventual delivery to their owners.
Most will get a long lasting life as amateur wine and whiskey barrels whilst others will be dispensing wines, distillates and liquors at bars, restaurants, cellars and private homes!
